NW started volunteering with Young Greenwich at Hawksmoor Youth Club in November 2020 as part of a compulsory work placement for her college course. Young Greenwich is a youth service CACT delivers on behalf of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Amber - Wildcats | Charlton Athletic Football Club

Amber, age 10, attended Wildcats sessions with Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) for two years and has now progressed on to the Charlton Athletic Football Club’s Emerging Talent Centre (ETC).

Wildcats is a non-competitive football session for girls aged 5-11 which promotes female participation in the sport. The sessions are suitable for girls who are trying football for the first time or those who wish to play football with other girls their age.

Joyce Harris - Extra Time Hub | Charlton Athletic Football Club

Joyce has been attending the EFL Trust Extra Time Hub with CACT for over two years. Joyce joined the club with her husband, Joe, who had Alzheimer’s disease, as an activity they could do together.

Joyce said:

Record-breaking £49,000 raised for Charlton Upbeats | Community Trust

On Saturday 29 April, over 180 Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) supporters gathered to take on the 9-mile Upbeats Walk, sponsored by DNEL Events.

CACT’s annual event was its most successful yet, bringing in over £49,000 for the programme which supports young people and adults with Down’s syndrome. Thanks also to CACT’s Official Events Partner DNEL Events, who sponsored this year’s walk and helped to make it such a success.

Wingfield Primary School Girls Football Team | Charlton Athletic Football Club

In September, Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) Coach Ivan Donaldson held trials at Wingfield Primary School in Kidbrooke for all females in Key Stage 2 to try out for the new girls football team. 

The 13 girls selected stood out during the trial and demonstrated a real talent for the sport. With regular training throughout the school year, the girls showed strong commitment to the team and improving as a group.

Participants from a range of Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) programmes have been enjoying new experiences at The Valley as part of the Community 500 scheme, which has returned for the 2022-23 season.
