One of Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT’s) aims is to increase girls’ participation in sport from a young age and after coming along to CACT’s Home Education sessions Poppy, 11, has started training with Charlton Women’s Regional Talent Club (RTC).

Record-breaking £49,000 raised for Charlton Upbeats | Community Trust

On Saturday 29 April, over 180 Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) supporters gathered to take on the 9-mile Upbeats Walk, sponsored by DNEL Events.

CACT’s annual event was its most successful yet, bringing in over £49,000 for the programme which supports young people and adults with Down’s syndrome. Thanks also to CACT’s Official Events Partner DNEL Events, who sponsored this year’s walk and helped to make it such a success.

Community 500 brings fans new and old to The Valley | Community Trust

Participants from a range of Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) programmes have been enjoying new experiences at The Valley as part of the Community 500 scheme, which has returned for the 2022-23 season.

The scheme sees complimentary tickets to each Charlton Athletic home EFL League One game to those from a range of community programme in the local area.

The Unspoken Curfew on Women

Green Party’s Baroness Jones sparked outrage recently by suggesting an amendment to the next bill to, “create a curfew for men on the streets after 6pm which [she] feel[s] will make women a lot safer and discrimination of all kinds will be lessened”. SNP’s Hannah Bardell also spoke out in support of the curfew on men. The call to place men under a curfew follows the recent vigil in remembrance of Sarah Everard, a victim of kidnapping and murder.
